Practitioner Training
Detoxinician™ Training
Detoxinician Training is grounded in the occupational medicine clinical foundation developed by Dr. David E. Root, M.D., M.P.H., through decades of work with chemically exposed individuals. Beginning in 1982, Dr. Root implemented a structured sauna-based detoxification approach in his clinics. Building on this approximately 37-year clinical history (1982–2019), Dr. Root’s son, Daniel Root, co-developed the Detoxination® protocol to modernize and streamline the method—incorporating improved sauna technology and a clearer pharmacokinetic understanding of niacin to support more consistent, repeatable, and well-tolerated implementation. Daniel Root now continues this work by providing Detoxinician Training for practitioners seeking a structured, safety-oriented approach to application.
The practitioner training is a structured, safety-first professional development program for health and wellness practitioners
who want a clearer framework for sauna-based detoxification concepts and thoughtful Detoxination® integration.
If your work involves supporting clients with wellness goals, and you want a more systematic way to discuss detoxification
education, pacing, and safety considerations, this training is designed for you.
What This Training Helps You Do
Detoxinician Training exists to bring structure to the questions that naturally arise when sauna becomes part of a wellness
offering: how to pace, how to handle individual variability, how to discuss detoxification responsibly, and how to integrate
these concepts without overstepping professional scope.
You will learn a consistent methodology for approaching detoxification education, including the role of sauna, the rationale
behind niacin use, the importance of supporting elimination, and the practical considerations that help clients tolerate
programs well.

This program is commonly pursued by practitioners and professionals already working in client-support or wellness settings,
